My LUSH Product Reviews

After I saw everyone talking about LUSH products as if it was something out of this world, my curiosity compelled me to try some of their goodies. My favorite you tuber, Amena Kin is a sucker for LUSH bath bombs and other products. I had no idea why everyone loved it so much. As we cannot find LUSH in Pakistan so I never even heard about it before. I though I was missing a big chunk of fun and beauty paradise.

Luckily, my husband was about to fly, so I asked him to bring some Lush products during his transit in Dubai. Just like me, even he was unaware of this colorful and organic beauty world. I asked him to get me some bath bombs, but he brought quite yummy other treats for me also. So, after using each and everyone of them of sometime now, I can write a review for you guys so that You may also know what is all the hype about. So without anymore talks let’s dive into the products:

I’ll begin with my favorite product here:

RUB RUB RUB Shower Scrub by Lush:

RUB RUB RUB Shower Scrub
http://www.lushusa.com

Before using this product I never even read a review about it. It was totally unknown to me. But I’m glad it worked out so well for me. I got two scrubs from Lush and this one is my love! I’m so obsessed with it’s results and with it’s fragrance that I cannot rave enough about it. A very subtle and mesmerizing scent that is not very over powering and lingers on your skin for sometime. It’s not harsh on your skin and you just need a very little amount of it. Though it’s quite expensive but this big tub can last you a whole or so.  It leaves your skin so smooth and silky. I have never achieved such results with any other body product. The best part is that it’s organic so you don’t have to worry about any side effects. However, as it is a scrub and not a body shower gel, I don’t use this on daily basis. I treat myself with this beauty once a week only.

My preference: 10/10

Price: I got this from Dubai for approximately 5000 PKR.

What they say about this product on their website:

Scrubby sea salt and mimosa shower wash

Rub Rub Rub is a bit of a variation on the normal shower gel. For one, it’s so thick we put it into a tub for handy scooping in the shower. Secondly, it’s a bright blue, supremely softening, exfoliating sea salt shower scrub to revive your skin. Sea salt is extra cleansing, mineral-rich and softening for the body; you can even use it as a shampoo in a pinch! Our rubby scrub is startlingly refreshing, with a dash of lemon juice and the tropical scent of mimosa blossoms for a light, blossom-scented wash and smoother skin.

Ingredients as mentioned on their website:

Fine Sea Salt (Sodium Chloride) , Sodium Laureth Sulfate ,Fresh Organic Lemon Juice (Citrus limonum) , Water (Aqua) , Sodium Cocoamphoacetate , Jasmine Flower Infusion (Jasminum officinale) , Mimosa Absolute (Acacia decurrens) , Orange Flower Absolute (Citrus Aurantium amara) , Jasmine Absolute (Jasminum grandiflorum) ,Lemon Oil (Citrus limonum) , Lactic Acid , Lauryl Betaine ,*Limonene , Lilial , Fragrance , Blue 1 , Red 28 . *Occurs naturally in essential oils

Ocean Salt Face and Body Scrub by Lush:

Ocean Salt Face and Body Scrub
http://www.lushusa.com

This was the other scrub that I got. It had quite a pungent smell of sea salt and you can actually feel and see salt in there. This is Lush’s one of the most hyped up product but I did not find it quite appealing. The major reason behind that is that IT BURNS! When I apply it on my body or face it burns. The smell is not appealing either. I stopped using it after trying it two times. I did not like this product. I did not use this product quite much so I cannot say much about it’s skincare benefits.

My preference: 5/10

Price: I don’t remember the price but according the quoted price on the website, it’s even expensive than the later one.

Coal Face Facial Soap by Lush:

Coal Face Facial soap by Lush
http://www.uk.lush.com

In the world of face washes, it was a bit intimidating to use a bar on my face after so long. The color is not quite appealing and if you are a desi like me, it may remind you of the black soap that was once used to wash the dishes. 😛 Okay jokes apart, this soap is actually amazing for oily skin. It’s black color is due to the activated charcoal. After using it for sometime, I realized that I’m loving it. It does reduces the shine on my face overall. It’s not over drying and quite soft on skin. However it does not leather up much. This soap has really boosted my skin care routine. They does not really come in any packaging. Instead they are wrapped in a brown bag with a printed info sticker on it.

My preference: 9/10

Price: According to the US website it’s approximately 1600 PKR.

Organic Therapy Message Bar:

This Product is insanely moisturizing. Most suitable to use during pregnancy when your skin is highly sensitive and you need just the right amount of moisturization to increase it’s flexibility. This product has done wonders for me. I treat my body with this lavish product right before slipping into my blanket at night. As soon as you start rubbing it on your skin, by your body temperature, it starts to melt. After applying it, you can store it away in it’s container and message your whole body so that it absorbs well. I started feeling the difference in my skin after two or three applications only. I’d prefer to use it at night as it has a thick consistency. Whatsoever, I love this product. I like how my night suit smells so nice due to it’s scent. Oh! and one more thing. It does melt very quickly so store it in a cool place. I kept this on my vanity in summers and it melted in it’s container. Now, I can’t use this a bar.

My preference: 9/10

Price: According to their website, it is approximately: 900 PKR/ 50 gm

Lava Lamp Bath Bomb by Lush:

Lava Lamp Bath Bomb by Lush
http://www.lushusa.com

When I watched youtubers loving them and talking about them all the time, I was super excited to try them. I don’t know what went wrong, maybe I didn’t buy the right ones. I did not like the bath bombs in general. I’m a huge sucker for bathing salts but I couldn’t get along with these. This bath bomb specifically is not at all my favorite. I did not like the fragrance and it made my tub just an orange hot mess. I felt like I was bathing in Fanta. The purple discs you see on this are solid oil discs. They’re suppose to to melt in your bath to nourish your skin. However, they did not melt, instead turned into a gooey and sticky ball which got stuck on my body and was not ready to wear off. Bathing with this one was a very unpleasant experience.

My preference: 1/10

Price: According to the website it’s approximately: 900 PKR

The Experimenter Bath Bomb by Lush:

Experimenter Bath Bomb by Lush

I used this bath bomb twice by splitting it into half. They are quite easy to cut though so that you can use them by parts. This bath bomb is not very bad. I liked it’s colors and it’s fragrance. But it’s a kind of more a fun experience than a skincare regime. It’s a good one to try if you want to grab some Lush goodies. It gives a really nice swirl in your bath rub.

My preference: 8/10

Price: According to the website: 1000 PKR.

Twilight Bath Bomb by Lush:

twilight-bath-bomb-by-lush

This was my favorite among all three of them. The scent was so beautiful. It kept my bathroom enchanting for as long as I kept this in bathroom. Such a beautiful and lovely product. They really does not make a difference to your skin but they are kind of fun to bath in. With beautiful pink and blue streaks in the tub, it releases sparkly glitter also which does not linger to your body. Everything is beautiful about it. Worth trying.
