Mustela Baby products Review

Hello my lovely readers!

About a month ago, I received some goodies from Mustela baby products company. I have been following them on social media before. Many of my fellow bloggers already wrote their reviews on their products. It was very nice to hear a new and trust able name in the baby care products. Because I have only heard of two most famous brands that are mother care and John sons baby products. I wondered if Mustela’s products were up to the mark and worth the hype.

Fortunately, I got the chance to test out their products. When I received the PR samples, I did some research and found that they are the skincare experts for babies and mothers-to-be since 1950. To ensure that their formulas are absolutely safe , Mustela uses independent toxicological experts. They not only have baby products but also have a huge skincare range for pregnant ladies. However, I haven’t tried any of those products.

In this blog post, I would be comparing Mustela products with other famous and leading baby product brands, already available locally in the market. i.e Mother care and Johnson’s Baby products. So that, my readers may have a better idea about the quality of the products.Mustela Baby Products Review

Price:

Mustela product’s price is almost same in local as well as international market. Whereas, Mother-care baby products are expensive in the international market and quite cheaper in the local market. That makes Mustela an expensive brand to buy in Pakistan. The 300 ml Body lotion ‘Hydra bebe’ is sold for PKR 1450 on babyplanet.pk, where as mother-care 500 ml baby lotion is sold for PKR 550 on the same website. Moreover, the Johnson’s baby lotion 500 ml is sold for PKR 415 ,again, on the same website.

I, then compared the three brands international price on Amazon, that is the most authentic and famous online website in America, The Mustela ‘hydra bebe’ baby lotion, 10.14 fl.oz (300ml)  is sold for 16 dollars, Mothercare ‘all we know baby lotion’ (300 ml) is sold for 17 dollars and Johnson’s baby lotion, 15 fl. oz ( 443.6 ml), is sold for 6.55 dollars.

Ingredients:

Mustela claims to be excluded of:

  • Parabens and phenoxyethanol
  • Halogenated derivatives (chlorphenesin and Triclosa, for example, which can be irritants and cause allergies) free
  • Alchohol, which when used as a solvent helps substances to be absorbed into the skin
  • Essential oils which can be irritants and cause allergies.
  • The formula is hypoallergenic.

Mothercare:

  • Baby lotion is hypoallergenic and dermatologically tested.
  • It contains natural extracts including olive oil, nature’s ultimate moisturizer and chamomile, which has great soothing qualities.
  • However, unlike Mustela, it’s not paraben free.

Johnson’s Baby Lotion:

  • Clinically proven mildness formula designed gentle for sensitive new-born skin.
  • Dermatologist- tested, pediatrician tested and hypo-allergenic.
  • Paraben-free

My personal experience with Mustela Baby products.

Mustela Hydra bebe body lotion:Mustela Baby Products Review

I’m in love with it’s fragrance. The formula is thin and dissolves quickly into the skin. When applied on the baby skin you do not have to reapply until the next bath. The consistency is liquidy like Johnson’s Baby lotion whereas Mothercare all we know baby lotion is thicker. The product is made in France and it’s in best condition for 6 months after opening the bottle.

Mustela Stilatopia Emollient Cream:

This cream is especially formulated for dry skin or skin with atopic tendency. It helps to soothe itchy skin. Unfortunately, I could not test this product fairly because we have not encountered any itchy or very dry skin. However, it’s fast absorbing and it does not contain any type of fragrance or color.

Mustela bebe Vitamin Barrier Cream:Mustela Baby Products Review

It claims to prevent, relieve and repair baby’s skin. It is again hypo-allergenic and fragrance free. I recieved a sachet and using that quantity, the results were good. It protects and insulates skin against irritation, (urine, feces, chafing) thanks to it’s barrier effect. It contains caprylyl glycol to reduce the development of becteria. it retails for PKR 875 and you can buy it here on babyplanet.pk

Mustela bebe Facial Cream:

This cream is especially formulated for the baby’s facial skin. It’s for normal skin types and provides adequate hydration. It has a mild scent to it and a little bit of product is needed. The formula is thin and quick absorbing. It keeps skin soft and supple. It contains jojoba oil, Shea butter and Vitamin E. It is formulated to minimize the risk of skin allergies.

These were all the products that I received and I tried my best to review them as fairly as I could. I was not paid to write this review and all the opinions are honest.

My personal preference for Mustela Baby Products: After my research, I would like to use these products for my baby especially the Vitamin Barrier Cream.

You can buy there whole collection from babyplanet.pk

I would like to say that Johnson and Johnson are completely ethical in all their products but I can only speak for one product which is baby oil. Baby oil it’s not baby oil if it was it would have derived from babies, like Grapeseed oil, Apricot kernel oil, Coconut oil etc. Baby oil is mineral oil and mineral oil is not natural as it is a by-product of CRUDE OIL.

yes you are right. Baby oil is not healthy. Instead pure extra virgin olive oil or coconut oil would be a great idea to use. 🙂 Thanks for sharing your thought. ❤

      walaikum assalam.. I hope you’re fine. ^_^
I actually tried everything I could as I wanted myself to enter the pakistani bloggers circle. What I did that I sent direct messages to different companies on their instagram pages. I told them about myself and asked if I could review their products on my blog. That’s how I got started. I can suggest you some brands to get started. The brands that responded me. You can Dm mustelapk, fruitein, dodo lashes, skin18, triumphpk, salinacosmetics etc. 🙂 If you want to discuss more in detail. DM me on instagram at http://www.instagram.com/blogbyamna or message me on my facebook page http://www.facebook.com/blogbyamna
I’d be more than happy to help you ❤ Take care ❤
